Orchids from King Kong
Yellow dusk casts shadows,
Darrow’s hair blows
brittle as leaves.
Pink and blue sky surrounds
and stills the feet of a worn animal.
A smile tries to look hard
into the night. Ann, afraid
sits in his hand.
There is a quiet, despite danger.
His eye scar frowns when his head hangs.
Her doll grasp lifts his chin
mud falls from Kong’s pitched curls.
He glides the horizontal bone to her shoulder’s flank.
She is covered in bumps as she falls from his callous hands
He tries to hold her smooth uncold arms.
from the screams of hunger in damp caverns.
Here on the cliff they fall asleep where nothing is looked
into but everything is seen.
