Settling

As she returns to his room
Disappointed and worn
Faltering again
I remember myself

And the coldness I felt
As she discovered that love
Was lost when gypsies
Stole me away

Will she trail him through life
As I smudge hearts in the kitchen
Scattered and bored
Bringing my darkness home

In her mind I have fed
From the poetry he stole
From lights that bleed over
The safety she felt
