Dear Readers,

Welcome back to the pages of Pirene’s Fountain.  This time, our journal of poetry (Volume 5, Issue 12) takes the form of an online anthology with a beverage theme.  With an eye on a variety of beverages, various treatments of topic, individual writing styles and focus of poems, the editors selected 54 poets for the current issue.

Warm thanks for the outpouring of submissions!  We hope you find this special publication as enjoyable to read as it was to put together.  Pirene’s will resume its usual format for the next issue.

Our congratulations and best wishes to the following poets nominated for:

Publishing news:  Glass Lyre Press will officially be in business next year.  Plans are in the works for GLP’s new website with guidelines for submitting poetry manuscripts and chapbooks for publication.  Pirene’s Fountain will become a part of Glass Lyre Press beginning in 2014, at which time PF will become an annual issue in print as well as online.

Pirene’s Fountain is pleased to welcome Royce Hamel to our editing/ publishing team. She will divide her time between PF assignments and assisting Mark McKay with Glass Lyre Press projects. We are also fortunate to gain the expertise of Candice Sloan who will oversee GLP business.

Be sure to follow us in coming months via Facebook for updates and details on the spring issue, in which World Fantasy & Nebula Award winner Jane Yolen will be showcased.  Regular submissions will be welcome of course, but do consider giving Fantasy and Sci-Fi themed poems a try!

For now, we invite you to get comfy with your favorite beverage and enjoy the read.  Salud!
